How do I scan a fruit or vegetable?
Open the app and tap the camera button to take a live photo, or tap the gallery button to select an existing photo from your library. The AI will analyze the image and show you the ripeness result within a few seconds.
Why is the scan result inaccurate?
For the best results, take a close-up photo in good lighting with the produce filling most of the frame. Avoid blurry images, dark environments, or photos where the produce is partially obscured. The AI performs best with clear, well-lit images.
Is my data private? Are my photos stored?
Your privacy is important to us. Photos you scan are sent to our server only to perform the analysis and are not stored afterwards. Your scan history is saved locally on your device and is never uploaded. We do not require an account or collect any personal information. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.
How do I delete my scan history?
Open the History tab in the app. You can swipe left on any individual scan to delete it. Uninstalling the app will also remove all locally stored history.
The app says my produce is "Not Safe" โ what does that mean?
A "Not Safe" result means the AI detected signs of mold, decay, rot, or fermentation that make the produce unsafe to eat. We recommend discarding it. If possible, compost it rather than throwing it in the bin to reduce environmental impact.
What types of produce does VisionRipe support?
VisionRipe can analyze a wide variety of common fruits and vegetables, including apples, bananas, mangoes, tomatoes, avocados, strawberries, peppers, and many more. Results are most accurate for commonly recognized produce.
The app is not working or crashing โ what should I do?
Try closing and reopening the app. If the problem persists, ensure you have a stable internet connection (required for AI analysis). If you continue to experience issues, please email us at aditya.kishore98@outlook.com with a description of the problem and your device model.
Does VisionRipe work without an internet connection?
An internet connection is required to analyze new scans, as the AI processing happens on our server. However, your previously saved scan history can be viewed offline at any time from the History tab.
